Seriously, I don’t know anyone, who doesn’t love the Horrible Histories TV series, no matter what age they are! So many times I’ve watched an episode and wondered why history lessons in school weren’t as entertaining as this?….It would be amazing if all history school teachers had the skills of this talented cast?
Take a look at this quick teaser trailer of Henry VIII to see how hilarious it is…
It’s not a surprise to learn that the Horrible Histories children’s book series is the bestselling children’s history worldwide, selling over 30 million copies and translated into 38 languages, since being first published in 1993.
As usual this show tells the story of many famous characters from the past, including William The Conqueror, King Henry I and of course the infamous King Henry VIII!
There’s also the story about the man who broke into Buckingham Palace and something about a witch during World War 2! So lots to learn about…
This show was just as entertaining as the TV show and the books, I learnt so much and my nephew, Jaxson who attended with me was thoroughly entertained too.
The pace of the show is perfect for young ones, as it moves quickly and is such high energy.
All the characters are hilariously played by a cast of only 2 actors, who bring a mix of songs, dance and jokes – there are even some jokes for the adults thrown in too, so don’t expect to get bored.
At 70 mins long with no interval, (which I thought was a bit ambitious, due to the age of the youngest kids in the audience) but the kids were mesmerised by the performance and showed no signs of waning interest.
It’s such a good show, we learnt so much, but no spoilers here!
