Muvvahood by Libby Liburd – 3rd November – 1st December – Various London Venues
Part stand up and part TED Talk, the content of this show is of personal interest to me, as I was a single mother in London, my son is all grown up now and has not fallen into any of the stereotypical cookie-cutter roles given to children from a ‘Broken home’, neither was I, unemployed, claiming benefits with the highlight of my day being when ‘Jeremy Kyle’ was on, as some media would have you believe 😀
Libby Liburd has written this show, to put the record straight and tell her tale of what it’s really like to be a single parent in today’s society.
She’s even made some shows easy for parents to access, with creches and relaxed performances as well as workshops for single parents.
I can’t wait to hear her take on the single parent life, a topic that is close to my heart.
Great topic Libby!
